Parsons takes on the Three Peaks Challenge in support of Mountain Rescue

Earlier this month, some of our team (Ian Parsons, Andy Lucas, Elliot Marling, Ammaarah Patel and Isabella Fischbach) took on the challenge of the Yorkshire Three Peaks – Pen Y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough – to raise money for our chosen charity of the year, Mountain Rescue England and Wales.

The team walked 25 miles with over 2,000 metres of vertical ascent, enduring sun, rain, hail and fog to stand on the three highest points in North Yorkshire.

Following a slower last five miles, the team needed a quick final jog to the finish, arriving at the start point after 11 hours, 59 minutes and 43 seconds, only seconds inside the twelve-hour challenge time!

Andy Lucas, Audit Director said: “The team may have slightly under-estimated the challenge at hand. A busy August left little time for physical practice and the relentless uphill and downhill took its toll on all our calves. The steep ascent to and last four miles down from the peak from Ingleborough were demanding. Starting on Pen Y Ghent and leaving this tough section to last was a real mistake! The challenge was in honour of my late father. The fact that at sixty years old he was still going round all three peaks in less than ten hours was phenomenal.”

After our recent challenge, we’re pleased to share that we’ve surpassed our initial target of £1,000 and have raised £1,505 for Mountain Rescue England and Wales.

Ian Parsons, Managing Director added: “Each year we support one chosen charity through our Business For Good programme with the aim of reaching our target through a programme of fundraising activities. We’re incredibly proud to be supporting Mountain Rescue England and Wales for 2025 and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who has donated so far.”

We have more fundraising activities lined up for the rest of the year including a bake sale and pumpkin carving competition. If you’d like to donate, you can visit our Just Giving page or follow us on LinkedIn for news on our latest fundraising activities.

A special mention goes to Isabella Fischbach, Business Services Executive who recently climbed Ben Nevis in support of our fantastic charity partner. She said: “The climb was an unforgettable experience – an emotional and mental challenge but incredible. It was in memory of Andy’s dad and was a meaningful way to honour him and show support to his friends, family and Mountain Rescue.”
